Learn to Assess the Potential of Graduates

The Learning Orientation Index (LOI) is a computerised game, suitable for Generation Y, that measures the way in which a person processes information. This provides useful guidelines for the purposes of career guidance, selection, placement and development. The LOI is specifically aimed at school and university leavers. It is web-enabled, self-administered, and capitalises on computer technology to ensure interactive assessment. Furthermore, is fun to do, and provides different customised reports immediately after testing that address the specific purpose of assessment.

This 2 day training workshop addresses:

• The broader psychometric assessment and career guidance contexts from a holistic perspective
• The underlying theoretical models
• The nature and development of the LOI
• Cognitive constructs measured by the LOI
• Interpretation of, and feedback on LOI results
• Application of the results – given different assessment purposes

Key Objectives of the Learning Orientation Index training course:

• To develop competence in understanding, interpreting and applying the LOI results in an informed and ethical manner
• To enhance the practitioner’s skill in integrating the LOI findings with additional information provided by the client or other assessment results
• To facilitate learning and personal development by contextualising the LOI results for purposes of career guidance and self-insight, as well as to explore opportunities for further growth

Requirements for attendance:

• Completion of the LOI (included in the cost of the course)
• Experience in psychometric/ psychological assessments

Certification as a LOI practitioner is dependent on the participant’s success in a competency evaluation that will be completed at the end of the workshop.
